Ministry Assistants

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for Ministry Assistants to serve on our staff team starting in September 2022.

The post is ideally suited to someone who wants to experience and explore full time gospel ministry but is open to all and someone who would like to be involved in understanding day to day gospel ministry within the local church.

You can expect to be:

  •  Involved in Bible teaching ministry, either with children and young people, or students – there will be some crossover. You will be line managed by the minister where your main focus of ministry lies.
  • Trained in Bible teaching ministry on the Peninsula Gospel Partnership training course
  •  A servant of Bible teaching ministry helping with practical and administrative work.

The terms are a full time contract for 37 hours per week on minimum wage. You will be expected to pay for and find your own accommodation.

Associate Minister (with responsibility for Young People)

St Leonard’s is a large thriving evangelical church in the centre of Exeter. We want to follow Jesus in everything and believe that the Bible and prayer are essential as we grow disciples . We are looking for a full time Associate Minister with particular responsibility for Youth/Young People and their families to serve in this vital ministry.

We want someone who will:

  • Oversee and develop our youth ministry (for ages 11-18 yrs) , enabling young people to know Christ and grow as Christ’s disciples themselves.
  • Work closely with families, encouraging and equipping their own Christian maturity and discipleship of their children.
  • Develop, train and lead a team of volunteers who can teach the Bible to our young people with passion and conviction.
  • Reach out with the gospel to those with young people locally through ministry in schools.
  • Supervise and train Ministry Assistants serving in ou youth ministry as required.

There is an occupational requirement that the post-holder be a Christian. The salary will be in line with the stipend of a curate on the Exeter Diocesan Scale, a non contributory pension will be in place and suitable accommodation will be provided.
