St Leonard’s is a thriving evangelical church in the centre of Exeter. We believe that the Bible and prayer are essential to the task of making disciples. We have a number of families and wish to appoint a full time Minister for Youth to serve in this vital area of ministry.
Overseeing the youth ministry (for ages 11-18 yrs) throughout the year in a variety of settings, to enable children to know Christ and start to grow as Christ’s disciples.
Working closely with families encouraging their discipleship of their children.
Developing, training and leading a team of volunteers in this area of service who can teach God’s Word to children with passion and conviction.
Developing a wider ministry amongst families to enable them to be brought to Christ and grow in maturity in Christ.
Reaching out with the gospel to those with children in our area through ministry at schools.
Supervising and training Ministry Associates serving within the youth ministry.
There is an occupational requirement that the post-holder be a Christian. The salary will be in line with the stipend of a curate on the Exeter Diocesan Scale, a non contributory pension will be in place and suitable accommodation will be provided.
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for Ministry Assistants to serve on our staff team starting in September 2021.
The post is ideally suited to someone who wants to experience and explore full time gospel ministry but is open to all and someone who would like to be involved in understanding day to day gospel ministry within the local church.
You can expect to be:
- Involved in Bible teaching ministry, either with children and young people, or students – there will be some crossover. You will be line managed by the minister where your main focus of ministry lies.
- Trained in Bible teaching ministry on the Peninsula Gospel Partnership training course
- A servant of Bible teaching ministry helping with practical and administrative work.
The terms are a full time contract for 37 hours per week on minimum wage. You will be expected to pay for and find your own accommodation.
