Rector
St Leonard’s is a large evangelical Church of England Church in Exeter with a long history of Bible teaching, mission and outreach, and we have just released members of the congregation to plant a new church. Our congregation is all-age, from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
We want to know and love Jesus more deeply, to become more like him and to reach out to others with the good news of Jesus. We are looking to rebuild our congregation and in due course plant another church.
We are a resolution church, looking for a man of deep personal faith and prayer, humble, able to lead us forward in our discipleship and courageous witness in a time of challenges and change.

Associate Minister for Youth & Families
St Leonard’s is a large evangelical Church of England Church, subscribing to the doctrines found in Scripture and formulated in the 39 Articles and the historic creeds. At the heart of our ministry is the Lord Jesus Christ, the head of the Church. It is our longing that people come to know him and grow to be like him and we trust that God will bring this about by his Spirit as we faithfully pray and teach the Scriptures to others.
We are pleased to offer the opportunity for a new Associate Minister for Youth and Families to join our team. The role includes:
- Leading and teaching the Bible to young people
- Leading, training, equipping and encouraging volunteers and Ministry Assistants
- Developing outreach among 11–18-year-olds
- Encouraging and equipping Christian parents
- Developing the ministry within secondary schools
Encouraging and being involved in Christian summer camps
The successful candidate will need to be a committed Christian with a servant heart, committed to expository Bible teaching as central to ministry, and with proven experience in teaching young people the gospel and training others to do so.
The post is full time, which will require working six days a week including Sundays.

Church Administrator

We are pleased to offer the opportunity for a new Church Administrator to join our church office team. The Church Administrator will be responsible for specific areas of administration, under the direction of the Rector and the PCC. These will include:
- Liaising with the Treasurer, Rector and HR group to assist with the administration of HR.
- Assisting with the management of Safer Recruitment for volunteers.
- Supporting the management of the Church Centre including health & safety and risk assessments, regular contracts, procurement and purchasing, bookings.
- Keeping records of policies and procedures and supporting with administration for the PCC.
- Secretarial support to the Rector and staff team as required and handling enquiries.
The Church Administrator will work alongside our existing administrators to make us as effective as possible in serving God’s kingdom by reaching out, building up and sending out.
The successful candidate will need to be a committed Christian with proven experience in administration.
The post is full time, but consideration would be given for this to be a part-time role of 3 days per week.

Safeguarding & Bookings Administrator

It is our longing that people come to know him and grow to be like him and we trust that God will bring this about by his Spirit as we faithfully pray and teach the Scriptures to others.
We are looking for a Safeguarding Administrator to join our church office team. He or she will be directly responsible to the Rector, and will work alongside the existing Church Office staff to support the ministry of the church via the administration of safeguarding processes and bookings. The role will include:
- Assisting with the administration of parish safeguarding procedures.
- Additional administrative support for the management of church centre bookings and churchyard plots.
- Other church office support (as required).
The Safeguarding Administrator will work alongside our existing administrators to make us as effective as possible in serving God’s kingdom by reaching out, building up and sending out.
The successful candidate will need to be a committed Christian with proven experience in administration.
The post is part-time, 12 hours per week.

Ministry Assistants
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for Ministry Assistants to serve on our staff team starting in September 2026.
The post is ideally suited to someone who wants to experience and explore full time gospel ministry but is open to all who would like to be involved in day to day gospel ministry within the local church.
You can expect to be:
- Involved in Bible teaching ministry, with particular responsibility for supporting one primary and one secondary area of ministry. These areas will be agreed upon following appointment and are expected to include two of the following: students, young people, and children.
- Trained in Bible teaching ministry through working closely with members of the ministry team and some guided study and training.
- Involved in serving Bible teaching ministry by helping with practical and administrative tasks.
This is a full time position contracted for 37½ hours per week on the National Minimum Wage. No accommodation is provided with this post.
